Ally Pally Motorbike Show 2009

Tony Piedade & John Pierson pay a personal visit to the 2009 Ally Pally MotorbikeShow.

On a warm but slightly grey day we ventured up to the Motorbikeshow, not really knowing what to expect.  Clearly finding the location wasnt much of an issue since its in such an iconic place.  Parking was also not an issue, as we turned up to a very reasuring wave from the parking attendants directing us to the correct parking areas.  Once we dropped off the bikes we faced a short walk to the entrace, which for me was a very welcomed opportunity to stretch my legs.

The Show was not increadibly busy, neither was it the type of Glitzy show that some have come to expect, however looking around the people there, there was a sense that the attandees at least  were very much "real" bikers.  There was also a good mix of exhibitors to appeal to everyone; clothing, tools, equipment etc.  As someone that attends plenty of shows I found it odd to not see the big brands there with their newsest machines, but in its place were older bikes and not having the new models to content with, I found myself with sufficient time to stop and have a proper look.

Refreshmens areas were adequate, perhaps a few more places for people to site in the main hall would have been nice.  Apart from that, it was a great show.  I look forward to seeing it grow and develop in the coming years.
